PH Club Squash Tournament Winners Emerge

The Port Harcourt club 1928 squash section on 14-16 October, 2011 hosted sister clubs in Delta and other states to a grand tournament, ending the tournament in a glorious grand successful style with David Don Pedro winning category A champion prize while Engineer Telema Princewill  becomes the first runners up, in that category.

Others who shared in the winning party are, Chief Anthony Anyaogbu, sponsor of the tournament, winning category B major prize, Adokiye Dappa come up first runners up. Category C has Engineer Bowadua Ngiangia as the winner of that category. Engineer Ngiangia is also the section captain. Bill Ukachukwu claimed the second position in that category.

Group D has Dr. Dannis Dede as the winner of that group, while Hon. Tonye Long-John claimed the second position in that order.

Speaking to The Newswriter Sports desk earlier, the captain of the section, Engr. Bowadua Ngiangia said he expected a nice tournament, and indeed it turned out to be one of the best tournaments ever organized in the section, as winners and all those that participated went home happy with a friendly disposition, which the tournament was intended for.

Engr. Ngiangia, as captain of the section was the happiest man. He gave thanks to God for a successful tournament.

In his brief chat with our sports anchor, earlier before the tournament started, Sojiye Lilly-Tariah, the chairman of the organizing committee, said he is expecting a friendly inter-club exciting tournament that will further promote the existing peaceful relationship between the invited sister clubs.

It was indeed as he predicted, it was a special tournament to remember for a long time. He also stressed that friendship among the sister clubs will be more concrete than before and from the tournament they are ready to play more tournament that will be exciting. ###
