Ogoni Project Dedicated to God

mosopThe people of Ogoni under the aegis of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) over the weekend at the Methodist Church of Nigeria (MCN) Bori in Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State dedicated the Ogoni Project to God.

Speaking with the press, Gani Tobah said that Ogoni always start and ends with God adding that, it was the reason for Ogonis success in their struggles.

According to Tobah, MOSOP started with God in the same venue in 1993 pointing at a small congregational arena that was used for church auditorium, where Ken Saro Wiwa, Edward N. Kobari among others gathered to commit the struggle that ejected Shell from Ogoniland, expressed hope for the actualization of the Ogoni Project based on the dedication, saying that God has taken over the struggle to make an Ogoni person Governor of Rivers State 2015.

He used the medium to call on Ogonis to take the struggle serious.

Senator Lee Meaba who disapproved a son of Ogoni who could not believe in his potentiality to governance said that Ogoni can be governor of the state now, saying he is ready and available to rule and asked for support from Ogonis, Ikwerres and all other tribes of the state to give him the mandate to govern as governor of the state and see instant changes in the state including construction of the troubled road from Eleme junction to Opobo waterside.

While speaking on his good plans for Rivers State, he presented a copy of his blueprint for the state saying that the content of the blueprint will be made public during his public laundering very soon in the state.

Senator Magnus Abe told the audience that Ogoni Project is a sure support by God in heaven blaming the violence and criminal involvement of youths on lack of job, stating that in the absence of any good messages they subscribed to evil ones, claiming that when an Ogoni person becomes governor of the state joblessness will cease and crimes will be things of the past.

Abe who spoke through Barry Mpigi called on political parties in the state to consider an Ogoni gubernatorial candidate as Ogonis will not support any party that does not subscribe to an Ogoni candidate.

Hon. Mpigi who condemned those that said Ogoni are not united and so cannot get the governorship which they are agitating for, said that the unity of the Ogonis is intact and urged them to continue the unity.

The chairmen of Khana, Gokhana, Tai, Eleme (KAGOTE) socio-cultural group of the Ogoni people, Dr. Peter Mmedee pressed on the Ogonis never to surrender the struggle to be governor now saying that if not now, the chances will elude them considering when it may rotate back.

He asked all politicians from Ogoni to pick governorship ticket in any party where they found themselves as there will be a time to do home reconciliation for the Ogonis to use their acceptable one and no one will lost out. ###
