Keshi now did not qualify Nigeria to 2015 Equatorial Guinea AFCON, without contract he was paid 14 million naira for two months while performing or rather performed coaches like Edwin Okon is being owed eight months salaries.
The Minister of Sports may not have been perusing the performing coaches records, there is no competitive period for Keshi, Okon has a programme and competition to prepared for, yet, he was not encouraged to be paid his eight months salaries, he has justified with result, yet he was not paid, rather Keshi that failed Nigeria was paid 14 million naira for two months.
Is this a way to encourage the national coaches to work? What moral justification does the Minister of Sports to pay Keshi 14 million naira for two months of waste?
What then will he say of Okon that has justified his position as “female national team coach? Is he the one to pay the coaches, what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
Coaches like Coach Edwin Okon deserve the best treatment to be encouraged to achievement for Nigeria now that the women FIFA world cup is in sight.
It is out of place to pay Keshi 14 million and refusing to pay Okon and others their eight months salaries they have worked for.
Emmanuel Amunike, coach Samson Siasia and Edwin Okon are preparing the national teams for assignment, the sports Minister should know that, if he could do the work of the NFF, he should also remember to pay the man that had put smiles in the faces of Nigerians by winning the African Women Nations Cup.
An hungry man could not produce result, the earlier the better, so that each coach in each of the categories will work their best. ###
