Hope Rises For Igbos In Rivers

The Rivers State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief (Dr.) Dakuku Peterside has assured the Igbos living in the state equal treatment with Rivers Indigenes if voted to power.

Peterside told the Olu N’ Igbo Business forum in a dinner night organized at Hotel Presidential recently, explained that the present administration led by Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi had many non-indigenes.

He further explained why he must engage non-indigenes in his government said no city, state or nation grows without non-indigenes.

Peterside told the Igbos not to be panic as there are two airports, two seaports in the state which will serve as potential source of wealth, adding that Igbos as any other Nigerians have the right to live in any part of the country freely said that the government will protect them and their properties.

He promised them good governance of zero tolerance for crime, and display transparency, accountability pointing out that all will live happily during in his government.

Earlier, in his speech, Engr. Nelson Omubogu appealed to the guber candidate to appoint a man/woman of Igbo into his executive, protect properties of Ndigbo by issuing them certificate of ownership as done to indigenes, he also demanded accessibility to his Excellency and other government functionaries by their members when they step into office and want the government to carry them a long.

Respondents who spoke with this weekly declared their royalty to the state government in power asking the government to stop multiple taxation and to create environment that will favour their business in the state. ###
