Rivers Probe: Amaechi’s Commissioner, Ex-Council Chairmen Go Into Hiding

Information reaching our news desk had revealed that the immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture in Rivers State, Hon. Emma Chinda has gone into hiding, following the invitation of the Justice George-Omereji Judicial Commission of Inquiry to appear before it to clear certain issues in the Agric Ministry while in office.
Reliable information disclosed that, the former commissioner has clandestinely moved out of the state for fear of arrest by the security agents.
On Monday the chairman of the probe panel, Hon. Justice Omereji threatened to apply the law to compel the ex-commissioner to appear before his commission, saying that nobody is above the law of the land.
Also moved out of the state are some former local government chairmen who had one way or the other misappropriated the Agric loan meant for the local farmers in the localities.
The erstwhile council chairmen who ran out of the state to escape the sledge hammer of Justice Omereji’s probe panel are Augustine Ahiamadu of Onelga, Flag-Amachree of Asalga, Nnamdi Uche of Phalga, Cassidy Ikegbidi of Ahoada-East amongst others.
Knowledgeable sources told this weekly that some of the “run-away” ex-council administrators went to the neighbouring states of Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and others for fear of arrest. ###
