CTCs Nominations: Rivers PDP Chiefs At War

Nyisom-WikeSequel to the dissolution of the chairmen and members of Caretaker Committees CTCs across the twenty-three (23) local government areas of Rivers State by Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, chieftains of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in some local government areas are currently at war with each other in an attempt to select new members into the CTCs. In some LGAs, the selection pattern of the new CTC members did not go down well with the party members who had contributed their time and resources for the development and growth of the party, because nobody consults their opinion during the selection processes.
In one of the LGAs in the Orashi axis of the state, a Commissioner and a Special Adviser exchanged words and abused themselves, during the nomination of new members into the forthcoming CTC.
According to information reaching our newsroom, in one of the Kalabari speaking LGAs, the nomination of the CTC members were shared among some party chiefs including serving Special Advisers, House of Assembly members and other influential politicians.
It was further gathered that, a female S.A to the Governor nominated her younger brother into the new CTC membership, leaving people who actually work for the victory of the people.
Speaking to this weekly a prominent member of PDP in the state described the action of the female SA to the governor as greed, wicked and selfish. He said such a female SA does not deserve any appointment in Wike’s administration, and called for her sack.
In another LGA, a serving commissioner nominated his elder sister into CTC membership.
In Degema local government area the stakeholders had very hot quarrel while compiling the list of the new CTC members.
Meanwhile, a call has gone to Governor Wike to come to the aid of the party faithful who are mostly GDI members across the twenty-three (23) LGAs of the state. Comrade Ado Peters who made the call while exchanging views with newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, said that if the governor does not act fast, some politicians are out to frustrate his administration. Comrade Peters who is a PDP stalwart in Opobo/Nkoro LGA maintained that if the secret plots of the stakeholders were not check, it will bring crisis in the state, that will have negative impact on 2019 elections. ###
