Eckankar Nigeria Celebrates Its Annual Harji Dinner

23055e9410f0cc79598c3e635b05e6f4It was a moment of joy and happiness as Eckankar Nigeria celebrated its annual Harji Dinner usually held in honor and respect of the Spiritual Leader of Eckankar, the Religion of the Light and Sound of God, Sri Harold Klemp, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master.

The event is held annually to give an opportunity to spiritual seekers and lovers of God to celebrate with ECKists in a relaxed atmosphere where individuals can ask questions about Eckankar, Life and God. It provides an opportunity to those who are ready and wish to begin their journey back home to God Almighty and the kingdom of heaven in this lifetime.

The Harji Dinner with the theme: ‘REPLACING FEAR WITH LOVE”, was held at the Temple of ECK, Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt amidst a large crowd that filled the Fellowship Hall, venue of the event, to its full capacity with invitees drawn from both members of Eckankar, government, business community, the press and the general public.

Speaking with The Newswriter newspaper, Mr. Charles Okwenivi, deputy chairman 2016 Eckankar Harji Dinner Committee, said ‘Harji Dinner’ is an annual event in honor of Sri Harold Klemp, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master that offers opportunity for the public to interact with members of Eckankar, the religion of the Light and Sound of God.

Delivering the theme talk, Femi Oladiran informed the gathering that where there is love fear cannot exist. According to him, ‘Fear limits, while love expands the consciousness and moves the individual towards spiritual freedom’. Love therefore could liberate the individual from the limitations of both the physical and psychic worlds and puts the individual squarely on his way back on the journey home to God.

The highlight of the event witnessed entertainment from cultural dancers, creative arts, talks and a dinner to mark the activity.

Questions were also entertained from the public on the teachings of Eckankar, the Religion of the Light and Sound of God. Among the questions asked and answered were: ‘Is Harji Dinner a way ECKists take Holy Communion?” “What does ‘Sri’ signify” “How can an individual become a member of Eckankar?”

Responding to the questions asked, the leader of Eckankar in Nigeria, the Regional ECK Spiritual Aide (RESA) John Areh, informed the gathering that Harji Dinner was another way of expressing divine love in honor of the Spiritual Leader of Eckankar, Sri Harold Klemp, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master whom God has appointed to lead all ready Souls back home to God through the path of Divine Love.

Concluding John Areh stated ‘When the Spiritual Student is ready; the Master appears to begin and lead the student’s spiritual journey back home to God’.
