WOMEN FOCUS: IF MOTHER WILL PRAY
“And all things, whatever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive”. Matt. 21: 22.
Is it nothing to you that all these youths who are operating as criminals and troublemakers are children which mothers carried for nine months? Are these boys and girls in the world of cultism and spiritual wickedness not the children that we laboured for? How about our teenage girls who are bringing the blood of innocent babies over themselves under your very roof. Young ladies had lured husbands into immorality and had scattered the home and we sit helplessly complaining, throwing our hands into the air.
Pregnancies and little children are snatched from mothers by demonic forces, but we keep quiet. Mothers in their numbers die during childbirth.
Many more women are becoming hooked with the loop of barrenness daily, and we throw our hands into the air, putting blames on God.
A wise man once said, “Mothers are the best intercessors, because they love the more and are hurt the more”, if mother don’t pray or their children who will.
Praying for our children is one of the greatest gift we can give to them. It position them for God’s mercies and blessing in life. Prayer is more than being responsible; it is sacred privilege, no child no matter how old or how far away can be outside the reach of a praying mother.
Abraham Lincoln made a comment after several years of his mother’s death that, “I remember my mother’s prayer and they have always followed me”. They have clung to me all my life.
Mothers have neglected the place of prayer in their children that is why so many children have gone astray and stolen by the devil in one way of the other.
A praying mother can use her knees to control the affairs of her children. Prayer is the key that unlocks the door of God’s treasure-house. It is the superior power which accomplishes what others cannot do.
All real growth in spiritual, academical, career, business, financial, material depends on prayers from mothers. All victory over temptation, all confidence and peace in difficulties and dangerous times, all relaxation of spirit in times of great disappointments and loss all depends on God in prayer.
Many mothers suffer lack and unnecessary burdens because they do not pray. How the world would be, if mothers would exploit the power of prayer to bring down heaven’s rich resources.
Every stage of a child’s development from conception to adulthood needs prayers. Real mothers cannot leave the lives of their children to chance. To defer praying for the children is to defer their progress and expose them to the wiles of the wicked one. Praying for them must therefore be a priority, a pastime, a passion and a practice, so that their fragile lives may be sheltered from the onslaught of the enemy of their souls.
Prayers must cover all areas of the children lives – from the relationship with God to the choice of career and life partner. Mothers must begin early to let prayers go before them, as it were, waiting for them in their later years.
Now, remember how you travailed in labour to bring your child out into the world, good, so also must you travail until you see the fruit of your labour and eat it.
No mother will want to travail in labour in vain.
