R/S Cricket Association Takes Cricket To Schools

The Rivers State Cricket association is prepared to create awareness about the game of cricket in the public.
This was made known by the head coach of the association, Coach Tony, while speaking on a radio sports programme.
According to coach Tony, cricket is one game that everybody in the society will like if paid attention to, due to the flexibility of the game and its being mentally engaging and challenging.
Throwing much light on the game that exists only in the European countries, coach Tony said the public will not have given much attention to the game of football if they have watched the game of cricket.
He noted that for the game to be embraced by the public, his association deemed it necessary to germinate it through the school age which the association believed will be the next generation to make the game popular.
Again, the soft spoken coach revealed that with the school children embracing the game, it will spread like that of football as the game is more challenging and active, which school children needed.
The association is also using the programme to prepare their athletes for the forthcoming 18th National Sports Festival to be hosted by Lagos State.
