Freight Forwarders, Customs Celebrate With Henry Njoku At 51

The Association of Nigerian   Licensed  Customs  Agents  ANLCA,  Nigeria Customs Service and  friends  from all walks of life, have celebrated one of their  own, Chief  felicitated with Henry  Njoku,   BOT  Chairman of ANLCA at   age of 51.

It was indeed a gathering of who is who in the business and political classes, at Evo Crescent, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on the 2nd February,2013. The event, witnessed the presence of Mr. Olaiwola Shitu, National President, ANLCA, Mr. Emenike Nwukoji ,Vice National President, ANLCA, Deputy Comptroller Ugonabo  F. Chizoba of Nigeria  Customs Service , Zone C Command, Port Harcourt and Hon. Ossy Prestige Ossy, Chairman, ANLCA, Onne  Seaport Chapter, Rivers State.

Other dignitaries at the occasion include: Chief Ernest Elochukwu, immediate past National  President, ANLCA and Chairman,Nestello Gateways Group,  who urged ANLCA,  Onne  Chapter not to lose focus, but work in accordance  with the principle for which the association was formed and the reason for associating.

Mr. Innocent  Ogbuji, Commercial Manager, West Africa Container Terminal WACT, Onne Seaport, Dr Obi  C. Okonkwo, National Publicity  Secretary, ANLCA, Chief  Walter Ihenson, Managing Director, Ihenson Motors Ltd., and Prince Kayode A. Oyinlola, former ANLCA Chapter Chairman,  Tin  Can Port, Lagos.

The presence of Chief Dennis Okwu, Chairman/CEO  of Sweet  Apples Services Ltd., and the Eastern Zone Coordinator of ANLCA, Chief Kingsley  Offor, chairman, ANLCA Area 1  Port Harcourt and the Chairman/CEO of Kingsoo  Global  Maritime Ltd.,  Abdulazeez Babatunde , Association  Electoral Committee ASECO Chairman, ANLCA and Mr. Jude Eguro, contractor and Zonal Chairman,  Rumuigbo/Rumuomoi  Zone of St. Francis  Catholic Church, Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt and a member of the Parish Pastoral  Council and Nze Theodore Ejezie, ANLCA Vice Chairman, Onne Chapter, amongst  others,  were not left out at the event.

All those that spoke to the Newswriter at the event, thanked God for the family and life of Chief Henry Njoku at 51. They described him as an obedient man, full of emulation. Someone that distinguished himself, in the midst of elders, as the Board of Trustees BOT Chairman of ANLCA.

In a chat with our correspondent at the event, Ugonabo F Chizoba, Deputy  Comptroller, Zone C who represented the Area  Comptroller General  ACG of zone  C Command,  Dr. Agbaje D.O., Mohammed  Mogaji, CAC Area 2, Onne and Abdulahi D.I. , Comptroller  General of Customs whom he said would have loved to be at the occasion  described Chief Henry  as a man that they cannot  resist to celebrate with .

He described Njoku further, as a man of impeccable character that never cut corners . Ugonabo used the medium to call the attention of government to dredge the water on the shores of Niger Delta and Calabar, to enhance the movement of ships/vessels to the areas. He also enumerated on some of the gains of E-payment as it concerns their activities and the Freight Forwarders, believing that ships (vessels) will soon be coming to Area 1 Seaport, PortHarcourt.

While Chief Kingsley Offor, emphasized that Henry was able to manage all the challenges that came his way as ANLCA BOT Chairman, adding that the issue of vessels not coming to Area 1 Seaport was a problem, he inherited and expressed hope that ships in no distance time will be coming to the area.

In  the same vein,  Mr. Innocent Ogbuji,  disclosed that Chief Njoku  is one of  their  clients, whose business transaction  has been transport, while Chief Dennis Okwu,  opined  that the caliber  of persons at the event, showed the quality of stuff that Njoku  was made up of and thanked God for the opportunity given to him to serve ANLCA as  the Zonal Coordinator  East .

However, Hon. Ossy Prestige Ossy, described the occasion as a very wonderful day that God designed for them to enjoy themselves. He lauded Henry as an amiable and practically wonderful man and urged him to continue on the side of truth.

In his contribution, Mr. Jude Eguzoro, who calls Chief Henry father, noted that after the death of his biological father, Henry took over his training and that of his sibling. He pointed out that the “Ikeoha” title conferred on Chief Henry, by his people of Ngor- Okpala, Imo State, was a replica of his commitment to the development of the community. He thanked God for giving  him the grace to manage his business and church activities simultaneously. Making his remarks, Chief Henry  Njoku, the celebrant, said he lost a Step- mother, lying in the mortuary, and the need to glorify God as long as life goes on.

He, disclosed making a vow on assumption of office as the BOT Chairman of ANLCA, to do a thing that will please God, by ensuring that all issues of ANLCA be settled in- house. On his political career, Njoku said he believes that at the appointed time, he  will be there.
