Ossify

Looking at the earth extremes
Of mortal ways, lay drowned dreams and visions alike
Propelling saints singing strange song
Sending messages of soul sapped with wine
And young souls crowned gentlemen of the road.
Looking at the earth extremes
Are those seeking for help
Like a beggar asking for alms
Clench hands refusing to help
Brother! Hasten your steps
And busy your hands
In the way better
So you beg not for shelter
Looking at the earth extremes
Seeing vexing life styles
Accusing fingers on gentle soul
Parents forcing their children to part ways
Angry souls mothering hungry souls
Poverty who are thou?.
Keeping many in silence –
Making the poor innocent one facing jail sentence.
Though we heard them speak
From the sits of glories speak
‘The good shepherds’ let your conscience vote
The poster unveils
With our conscience we did vote
They won and propelled too far beyond our sight
Bah, good conscience is lost in antiquity.
Looking at the earth extremes
The commoner mute to seek for his right
And the rich suppressing man, with his might compelling the commoner to mutter
ls’t a sin to be poor?
Sic utere tuo et alienum non Iaedas
Don’t exercise your right in the way it affect others.
ls’t not over ambition for wealth?
Spurring drivers to weave mischief
That is done to commuters change
Now, listen we need change
Even Nigeria at 51 yrs, yet we hear
Eh! EN! … at the return of brief glow
You see… my dear
For we Bye in expectancy
LT students refused
And the way forward get long legs
Looking at the earth extremes
The rich unwilling to untie his hands
The commoner gave not because he had not
Nemo dat quod non habet
You can’t give what you don’t have
Yet they would motion to worship places
Singing with melodious voices
With hands weaving claps
And head bow, eyes close asking for mercy
Only to return to weave more mischief
Students learning under pressure
Lecturers as well teaching under pressure
Teacher extorting students without measure
Who shall charge them for extortion
As I weave may my pen never dry.
