Court Arraigns 28 Secret Cult Members

Alleged secret cult members numbering 28, have been arraigned before Chief Magistrate E.C. Woke of Chief agistrate court 1, PortHarcourt.

Charge number Pmc/2209c/11, stated that, the 28 suspects and others now at large on the 25th day of November 2011, at Obokwu Ozuzu Etche, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did conspire amongst
themselves to commit felony to wit: Secret Cult activities and thereby
committed an offence punishable under section 1(2) of the Secret Cult and
similar activities prohibited Laws No. 6 of Rivers State 2004.
On count II, they allegedly, with others now at Large on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did participate in the Secret Cult Group known and called NEO Black Movement of Africa and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 10(1) of the secret cult and similar activities prohibited laws No. 6 of Rivers State 2004.
They were arraigned on Tuesda, November 29, 2011 and remanded in prison custody till March 3, 2011, while the case file has been transferred to the Director of Public Prosecution,DPP, for advice.
In another development, King Nelson ‘m’, Happy Newman ‘m’, Omie Christopher ‘m’, Omietimi Kubor ‘m’, Korre Dauritei Ben ‘m’, Handsome Anthony ‘m’ and others at large were alleged to have, on the 11th day of November, 2011 at Awoba Community Degema in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District conspired amongst themselves to commit felony to wit: Tampering with Oil Pipeline and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 3 (6) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap Ml?, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
They were arraigned on November 28, 2011 in the same court.
Count II of the charge, number Pmc/2202c/2011,stated that King Nelson Happy Newman Omie Christopher, Omietimi Kubor, Korre Dauritei Ben, Handsome Anthony, and others at large on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did willfully and unlawfully break, damage or disconnect or otherwise tamper with oil pipeline meant for transportation of Crude oil or refined oil and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 1 (7) (a) (b) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap Ml?, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
COUNT III: That you King Nelson ‘m’, Happy Newman ‘m’, Omie Christopher ‘m’, Omietimi Kubor ‘m’, Korre Dauritei Ben ‘m’, Handsome Anthony ‘m’ and others at large on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did unlawfully deal in Petroleum Product and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 1 (17)(a) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap Ml7, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The case has been adjourned till December 9, 2011.
