Plane Crash In Accra, Dwarfed By Lagos Aviation Mishap

A Boeing 727 cargo flight which took off from Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria, collided with a mini-van at the runway near Kotoka International Airport, Ghana.
The crash which was said to have occurred in the densely populated neighbourhood and high rise building area around the Airport, claimed 10 lives.
However, the four-crew members of the ill-fated craft survived the crash and are receiving treatment at the nearby Airport Clinic, sources confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of Ghana had confirmed to the press that a full scale investigation would be instituted to unravel the cause of the plane crash, after visiting the site of the incident.
The Boeing 727 Cargo plane crash in Accra occurred before that of Lagos where a Dana airplane claimed more than 160 lives with no one surviving the incident.
The Lagos mishap was aggravated by the unconfirmed report that the Danna Airline passenger plane was carrying a full load of fuel, heading to Lagos, when the engine malfunctioned and it crash-landed and burst into flames.###
