SSAECN Celebrates Nnaji’s Resignation, As Goodluck Takes Over

The Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies of Nigeria has celebrated the reported resignation of the Power Minister, Prof. Bath Nnaji.
Speaking to newsmen from his base in Abuja the association’s secretary Mr. Abiodu Ogunshega stated that the resignation of Bath Nnaji was like a prayer answered noting that the minister contrary to the perception of people was a cog in the wheel of progress.
Sources say that the former minister whose resignation was accepted yesterday by the presidency had investment interests in one of the companies bidding for the acquisition of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
Investigations revealed that the presidency was miffed when it discovered that the former minister had such vested interest in Geometric Power, a company partly owned by Nnaji and is vying for the privatization of Afam Generation Company Limited and another Enugu Distribution Company Limited.
Having found out so much about the minister the presidency thus felt that transparency in the bidding process by companies wishing to take over the big PHCN job of giving Nigerians light maybe compromised it felt jittery at continuing with the minister.
On this premise then the presidency had no other option than to call for his resignation.
In the interim, reports reaching The Newswriter has it that President Goodluck Jonathan has taken over the supervision of all programmes and policies in the ministry###
