This Year’s Rivers State Governor’s Cup Targets Results

Chief Coach of Rivers State Football Association, Coach Tony Chukwu has said that Rivers State has enough quality players to represent the state at the forthcoming National Sports Festival tagged, “Eko” 2012 in Lagos.
Speaking to The Newswriter Sports Desk, the amiable coach disclosed that to have the best from the players, he zeros down much on discipline, as 60 percent of his classification of a player always come in as his secret of maintaining players in his team, adding that so far, it has resulted into success, hence Rivers football team is always a threat to other state teams any day, any time.
Confirming his point, he stressed that three teams had won 3 points in the field of play, but lost the 3 points to their opponents at the boardroom, because of indiscipline.
He also revealed that the state has enough players from past competitions to lift the gold medal at Eko 2012 in Lagos, maintaining that the players that would be discovered from this year’s governor’s cup competition will only come as complementary to the team so as to give opportunity to other talented upcoming footballers for exposure.
Coach Chukwu stated in simple terms that his team has served Dolphins and Sharks Football Clubs with quality players, while advising upcoming footballers to maintain discipline in their life, without that they would not achieve their aim of playing at the top level.
So far, the competition is going on smoothly without any form of threat, believing that it will end successful.
