ONELGA: Amaechi Tasks Newly Elected Chairman On Security

The Rivers State governor, Gov. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has sworned in the newly elected chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area Dr. Augustine Ahiamadu with a charge to accord priority attention to security of lives and property of the people of the area.

Performing the swearing in ceremony at Government House Port Harcourt on Monday 8th April 2013, the Chief Executive Officer of the State further charged him to discharge his duties transparently and embark on people oriented projects.

In a chat with journalists shortly after the swearing in ceremony, Dr. Ahiamadu said his first priority is to tackle the insecurity challenges in the area as demanded by the governor.

He stated that he would embark on agriculture to ensure food production and building of more markets to decongest the crowded and existing one. He further assured of infrastructural development, sports for recreational activities, adding that he would run an inclusive government and carry everyone along in the scheme of things. He enjoined people of the area to support his administration to achieve his desired objective for the area. ###
