DJ Not A Pitiable Profession- Lasbury

A Port Harcourt based business man Hon. Lasbury Amadi has described Disc Jockey (DJ) as a noble Profession and not a pitiable work at-all.

Lasbury said this at the inaugural ceremony of Associations of Professional Disc Jockey of Nigeria (APRODJON) on Thursday April, 11 2013 in Port Harcourt, adding that DJ is the engine room of the music industry which they are trying to develop. He said, before anything can happen, a good DJ must be in place.

He observed that DJ can confuse an artiste on the stage and that it’s a scientific work of art that is played with fingers.

Speaking to news men Amadi, whose business is in the hospitality industry said that by the time he finishes his ongoing building many DJs are going to be employed, since he is putting up clubs that are going to be one in town.

Also speaking, Pepple I. Pepple who is a patron to APROJON said that DJs are not drop out, but a field many did not know about.

He described the gathering of DJs to form an organization like APRODJON as a wonderful one and asked them to keep it up. ###
