Trans Amadi Slaughter: Peace Has Returned – Uba

 

The chairman, National Butchers Union of Nigeria, Trans-Amadi Branch, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Alhaji Salisu Uba has promised a peaceful administration. He made the statement during an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt.

Alhaji Salisu said his target as the chairman of the Trans-Amadi slaughter is to do everything within his reach to bring a lasting solution to peace in the market.

He also said that his administration will not discriminate against anybody no matter his tribe or religion assuring that everybody will be carried along. The newly elected chairman pointed out that more that more than one year now, the market had not experienced peace due to poor administration.

“There has been killings, fighting, court cases and just name them”. He also stated that since he assumed office, that he and his committee members has calmed the situation down and now there is a flow or free movement in the market.

Alhaji Uba said that the police patrol team that used to be everywhere in the market is no more, everybody is happy and pleased with the new development in the slaughter market.

He also noted that his tenure will put smiles on the faces of everybody that will keep the rules governing the market. He also used the medium to call on all members of Trans-Amadi slaughter union to cooperate with him and his team for a transparent and accountable leadership.

Other executive members of the union are, Musa Harua (secretary), Isaka Omotunde (Fin. Sec) Ali Bello (Treasurer) and Njobuamu Loveday (PRO). ####
