Rivers Chief Judge Retires Monday

JUSTICE ICHE NDUArrangement is on for the valedictory ceremonies in honour of the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Iche Ndu who will be retiring on Monday August 19, 2013. A release issued  in Port Harcourt from the office of the Chief Registrar of the High Court and signed by Leonard Adoki Esq. Indicated that a valedictory Thanksgiving Service will hold at St. Cyprians Anglican Church, Hospital Road, Port Harcourt and will be followed by the inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Nigeria Police Force at the premises of the High Court, Port Harcourt.

Leonard Adoki further stated that a special court session will take place at the Ceremonial Court Hall, New High Court building, at the end guests will be treated to a valedictory cocktail party. He added that the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi,  The Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Chief Judges of Sister States and other dignitaries will be in attendance.

It will be recalled that the Chief Judge of Rivers State Justice Iche Ndu was appointed Chief Judge on 1st November, 2001 and has been in the service of the Judiciary for twelve years. A legal scholar of remarkable distinction and erudition, Justice Ndu’s regime has made many remarkable improvements in the infrastructural of the judiciary in the State.
