ISOPADEC Empowers Youths, Women Of Oil Producing Communities… As Eze Asor Calls For Classification Of Ezeship

ISO-BLAISEThe Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area Council of Traditional Rulers, Imo State, HRH Eze Dr. I.O. Asor, Udi I of Obudi-Agwa Ancient Kingdom and the paramount ruler of Obudi Agwa Autonomous community, has identified the proliferation of the traditional institution in the state since 2003 as the reason for the youth restiveness is currently rocking some communities of the state.

The Chairman Emeritus of Traditional Rulers of Oil and Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria TROMPCON, who made the disclosure at his Palace, shortly after the visit of Prince (Dr.) Henry Okafor, Managing Director of ISOPADEC to him on a one day personal empowerment for 10 women in his community, said that the proliferation of an institution like the traditional stool has brought disrespect among citizens and the traditional institution in all communities of the state.

Udi I, however commended the state governor, Chief Rochas Owelle Anayo Okorocha for his choice of a well respected judge in the state to head the panel that is currently evaluating the affairs of the traditional rulers in the state, adding that the classification of the traditional institution in the state will bring back sanity and respect for one another in the traditional institution and communities at large.

The former member of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, who exonerated Chief Okorocha from the creation of over 600 autonomous communities in the state, commended him for the courage to fill in the vacant traditional stools of various autonomous communities in the state, pointing out that past governors were unable to take the bull by the horn.

Eze Asor, further advised the youths of Agwa to desist from destroying peoples’ property, but to always follow the Rule of law in handling whatever differences that they may have among themselves and to understand that the law is no respecter of person(s).

He, used the medium to drew the attention of the state governor to the fact that his order to “go and electrify Agwa has not been carried out by those he designated for the job, pointing out that those electric cables that littered in the roads of Agwa may be vandalized if not urgently installed and put to use as directed by Okorocha.

Udi I, in the mean time lauded Prince Okafor, Managing Director of ISOPADEC, saying that his 3 years in office has touched lives in all the oil producing communities of the state, through the disbursement of N500m for the youths by ISOPADEC and his personal initiative of empowering 10 women in each of the oil producing communities of Imo State.

TROMPCON Chairman Emeritus stressed that the administration of Dr. Okafor as ISOPADEC boss is the only administration in the history of the Commission that has brought dividends of democracy to the grassroots and urged him to continue in that direction.

In his remarks, Prince Dr. Henry Okafor, said he was at the palace of Eze Asor to pay homage to him and inform him of his visit, which he said was on a personal initiative to empower 10 women in each of the oil producing communities of the state, after the youth empowerment, which the day happens to be the turn of women in Obudi-Agwa Automatons Community in Oguta LGA, he added.
