Int’l Organization Kicks Off LGAs Tour In Rivers State

As part of activities lined up to mark this year’s international Youth Day Celebration across the globe a Non Governmental Organization under the aegis of International Association of World peace Advocates has concluded plans to tour the 23 LGAs of Rivers State where caretaker committee chairmen and members were appointed.

According to the spokesman of the Association, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, who made the disclosure while chatting with our correspondent in a telephone, said the tour is billed to commence on Wednesday, July 30th, 2014 through Friday 1st August, 2014 and will start with five Local Government Areas of the state including Etche LGA, Omuma, Ikwerre, Emohua and Oyigbo LGAs.

He further disclosed that the ten (10) days tour will be mainly focused on the CTC chairmen that are promoting peace and youths development despite their short period as caretaker committee chairmen, hinting that the team will be accompanied by the civil society organization, professional bodies and the media including prints and electronic.

Amb. Nkweke who also double as the coordinator Local Government Area monitoring team further stressed that they will be climaxed on the day the world will celebrate the international youth day slated for August 12th, 2014.

He however stated that the best CTC Chairman and the youth of the local government area will be among the delegates that would participate in the forthcoming United Nations 65th annual conference on post 2015 millennium development agenda schedule for August 27th-29th at the United Nations headquarters, New York. ###
