2015: Wike Bows Out, Picks Guber Form Oct. 22

NYESOM WIKEAt last, the much speculations of some serving Ministers in the President Goodluck Jonathan led Federal Executive Council eyeing the plum job of their respective states, especially that of Rivers State by the junior Minister incharge of Education, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike is laid to rest following their formal resignation from office on Wednesday.

Some of those who tendered their abdication letters include, Labaran Maku, Minister of Information and Communications, Narasawa State, Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, Minister of State for Education, Rivers, Emeka Nworgu Minister of Labour and Productivity, Ebonyi Sate amongst others.

Going by this resignation on Wednesday the coast is now cleared that the former Ministers are battle ready to contest the forthcoming party primaries of their respective states.

For Rivers, the doubt whether or not Wike would contest the gubernatorial seat is however, wiped off as the opposition parties by the information reaching The Newswriters’ newsdesk is in a serious dilemma of what becomes their fate in the contest.

The feelers reaching The Newswriter indicate that the aspirants under the PDP platform are all ready for the show down with the decision to contest the party primaries as whosoever emerges winner is the party’s choice.

It would be recalled that Wike has said that the opposition parties are afraid of his candidacy should he eventually decides to run for the Brick House, positing that APC leaders could not concentrate on developing their party rather discussing PDP affairs.

Meanwhile, anxieties are high amongst supporters of Wike political ambition while fears reportedly grips the opposition APC in the state.

Wike is however, said to be prepared to launch his formal declaration soon in Port Harcourt.
