2015: Kalabari Group Stands Behind George, Sogules, Awibo

Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries for the State Assembly, a very prominent socio-political group in the riverine community, the Kalabari Unity Project Initiative for Good Governance (KUPIGG) has stood behind the candidature of Enemi George, for the Asalga Constituency II Seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly. According to the group he is the best among all the aspirants in the constituency.

Addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Monday, the Chairman of the association, Comrade Jerry Horsfall lauded the candidature of George, expressing optimism that if Mr. George is given the mandate to serve the people of the Asalga Constituency II, he would enact good laws that will put smiles on the faces of the constituents.

Comrade Horsfall who described Mr. George as a “grassroots politician and a sincere member of PDP”, pointed out that Mr. George is the solution to the Asalga Constituency II.

The group further lined up behind Tonye Awari Awibo as its sole candidate for the Akulga Constituency II position in RSHA. Comrade Horsfall lauded Mr. Awibo for using diverse strategies in repositioning the PDP in the LGA. The KUPIGG expressed optimism that for now it is only Mr. Awibo that can attract the needed positive development into the Akulga Constituency II.

Comrade Horsfall pointed out that with Mr. Awibo in the State Assembly, the legislative organ of Government in Rivers State will be productive and lively.

The association also endorsed Mr. Ipalibo Sogules for the Delga Constituency in the RSHA saying that Mr. Sogules with his wealth of experience in politics, public and business administration will turn around the fortune of the Delga Constituency. The association endorsed Sogules when its members paid him a courtesy visit. In his response Mr. sogules thanked the association for supporting President Goodluck Jonathan and Chief Ezebunwo Wike.

Comrade Horsfall pleaded with delegates and other party officials to vote for George, Awibo and Sogules on the day of the primaries, noting that, casting their votes for the trio is one sure way to establish firmly the dividends of democracy in Asalga Constituency II, Akulga Constituency II and Delga Constituency in the Kalabari speaking LGAs.###
