Ahead of the Saturday 11 April governorship and state Assembly elections about 1000 election observers comprises both domestic and international are coming to Rivers State for the elections.

Comrade Emmanuel Nkweke aka Mr. Vote Count made the disclosure in a press conference in Port Harcourt.

Comrade Nkweke pointed out that 45 accredited observers groups are assigned to observe elections in Rivers State adding that the April 11th elections will certainly be better than the 28th March Presidential/National Assembly elections.

Comrade Nkweke, however warned fake election observers to keep off in all the polling units and wards across the Rivers State LGAs., pointing out that any observer found guilty of any electoral misconducts will be dealt with according to the law.

Nkweke who is also the head of the observers Mission warned politicians not to use youths to commit violence in the election rather should be a good example and worthy of emulation as the eye of the law is said to fish out any person that behaves otherwise.

He commended Dame Gesila Khan, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State for her commitment in ensuring equitable and effective distributions of electoral materials in the 28th March presidential election and advised INEC to improve in all the irregularities that characterized the last Saturday 28th March Presidential/National Assembly election across the nation as the observers will certainly expose any misconduct during the elections. ###
