Prof. Fakae Replacement Will Be Difficult – University Don.

A University Don with the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) Dr. Napoleon Olo Ella said the replacement of Prof. Fakae will be difficult because his performance is greater than the performance of all the past Vice – Chancellors put together.

Dr. Ella made the remark during the official disengagement of Prof. B. B. Fakae, the Vice Chancellor on Monday 6th July, 2015 at the faculty of Environmental Sciences of the University.

He said it will be difficult to find someone that will fit into the big shoes of Prof. Fakae because of his transformation and all round development in the University especially the faculty of Environmental Sciences with the provision of equipment and buildings.

“I pity the person that will take over from him because he has raised the bar so high, I am thinking that a Joshua in place of Moses should come, maybe we will get somebody by God grace” he said.

Also speaking Prof. Ikoima HOD and Deputy Dean Faculty of Agriculture said it is necessary to celebrate Prof. Fakae because of his tract record.

On his advice for the incoming Vice-Chancellor, he said the person should key in to the vision and mission of University.

In the same Vein, Prof. Giami the Dean faculty of Agriculture said they appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and whoever will be appointed should put away politics and put away sentiment.

Dr. Sam Dekae an Associate Professor bared his mind on all the good things the outgoing Vice-Chancellor has done and task the incoming Vice-Chancellor for consolidation.

On lack of unemployment among the Youths after they left the University even though they excel in agriculture, the University Don. stated that most students have done well to own their farms despite, the white collar job syndrome.

He tasked they would be Vice- Chancellor to build on what Prof. Fakae has done especially in the area of stability as cult related activities was highly reduced and eliminated by the outgoing Vice-Chancellor.

Planning of the University of Science and Technology said God should send another God fearing man, just as he send Prof. Fakae noting that the University will continue to move forward.

Earlier, the outgoing Vice-Chancellor Prof. Barimeme Fakae stated that the certificate verification, computerization among others has propelled the University on high ground.

Prof. Fakae maintained that the glory of institution belong to all because of their support given to him.

He said that the grading of the University will depend mostly on the quality of research and the availability of the University information on the web.

Prof. Fakae further promised to build a Hall for the Department of Agriculture and pledged the completion of the shopping mall.

He, however, said he has transferred his services from UNN to UST for the period he remains in service.

One of the lecturers, Mr. Tonye Pepple commended the Vice Chancellor for his effort in making him pass his professional practice examination which has taken him 25 years.
