Hajj: N.2bn Fraud Rocks Rivers Muslims Board

Mallam Saraki Mohammed Galadima, the Hausa leader in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Port Harcourt LGA has called on Governor Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike to intervene and probe Alhaji Diepriye Abdurazzaq, the chairman Rivers State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and his members for allegedly hijacked and sold of two hundred slots allocated to him and other Muslims residing in Rivers State who were approved to visit the Holy land Mecca in this year Hajj.

In a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, Mallam Saraki Galadima who lamented on the deceit the chairman of the Rivers State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board and his members melted on him and other members explained that the Rivers State Governor Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike due to their commitment has allocated him and others two hundred Muslims for this year’s pilgrimage after being screened by the board. “We were surprised to observe that our names were removed on the notice board and replaced with unknown persons who were not even screened”, Mallam Galadima alleged.

According to him, a reliable source hinted that the chairman of the Board, Diepriye Abdurazzaq and his members in a bid to favour a particular set of persons tactically sold our slots to some persons residing at Abuja for the sum of One million naira each thereby depriving us from visiting the Holy land.

Mallam Mohammed Saraki Galadima who is also the Assistant Secretary of non indigenes in Rivers State doubted the membership of Alhaji Diepriye Abdurazzaq, and other board members, as members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP suspected them to be members of the All Progressives Congress, whose intention is to tarnish the image of Governor Nyesom Wike who has better plan for the non indigenes in Rivers State and appealed to Governor Wike to intervene, probe the chairman and his board members to review their ugly action against him and others.

On the Governor Nyesom Wike performance in hundred days in office, the Hausa leader described Wike as a performer who has taken Rivers State to the next level and performed credibly within his hundred days in office and appealed to Governor Wike to carry the northerners and non indigenes along in the scheme of things especially in the area of employment, award of contracts, scholarship and other jobs that can improve their lives. And he assured him of non indigenes support to make his administration succeed.

He expressed optimism that Governor Nyesom Wike would complete his tenure for eight years.

Mallam Saraki Galadima commended other PDP members in the state including Rt. Hon. Austin Opara, Hon. Chinyere Igwe, Hon. Victor Ihunwo, Bro. Felix Obuah, Mr. Emeka Onowu, Mr. Obom Iyang among others for their support to Governor Wike’s administration and their good leadership in the state. ###
