Happy Eid-el-Kabir

On September 24 and 25, 2015, Muslims all over the world will celebrate Eld-al-Adha, the festival of sacrifice. This is an important religious holidays to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son, Ishmael (Isma’il) as an act of obedience to Allah.

No doubt the attitude of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son to Almighty Allah demonstrated the true heart of giving. This is a true attitude that every human being should emulate. But, we have come to an era where giving and self sacrifice have been thrown to the dog.

Ibrahim, a friend of Allah and a man of faith did not look at what would cost him if he gave his son willingly to the possessor of the heaven and earth.

This is what every devoted Muslims should exhibit, because what we possess in this life are bestowed on us by God and no one else, therefore as human beings we didn’t need to withhold anything from him, when He demands anything from us.

It is essential that we must give Allah our time to serve him, despite our commitment in the secular world.

Unfortunately, of most Muslims who believe in Allah do not diligently follow the teachings of the Holy Quran rather involve themselves in diabolic means to destroy their fellow human beings.

As the Muslims celebrate this great feast, our political leaders and public office holders should try as much as possible to ensure that they initiate ideas and programmes that will make life more meaningful for the citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ###
