Interference by the Presidency on the State Election Petition Tribunal for Akwa-Ibom and Rivers States sitting in Abuja have been confirmed by a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Rivers State from the Andoni Local Government Chapter of that party, when he boasted that unless Buhari is dead, they will continue to win the tribunal cases in the appeal tribunals and at the Apex Court, suggesting that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would have accepted the tribunal verdict for a rerun election which he equally lashes his tongue for an open rigging.
The APC chieftain who spoke to his aide via a telephone chat, Sunday said, “We will continue to win the tribunal cases even at the appeal and supreme courts except Buhari is dead. The same Buhari who gave an order to the tribunals will also give same orders to the appeal and supreme courts. The PDP is wasting the peoples’ time, wasting their resources because they will not win in courts as far as Buhari is alive, I am telling you in confidence that we hold Buhari strongly and he would do anything for us…”.
The APC Chieftain according to his aide was the founder of APC in Rivers state whose presence at the national office is unique and strong, saying that exception of ex-governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi who found his way into Rivers APC through his money bags at the national level, the Andoni born politician was first from Rivers to embrace and holds sway of APC’s flag.
A former local government Caretaker Chairman and betrayed state Chairman of the APC, according to his aide was fully prepared for the ministerial position should ex-governor Amaechi was denied screening by the upper national legislative chambers.
“Journalist, I tell you my boss would have been the minister if Amaechi was not taken. Andoni would have produced a minister, he was very much ready, his name was pen down, we were praying for him to be but you know Amaechi knows it, so the fight was very strong, it is not over yet…” the aide who declined name in print stated.
However, if the revelations of the aide to the APC Chieftain should be taken seriously, then the allegations of the PDP that the presidency has a hand in the early misfortune of its tribunal matters are not only correct but believable.
It would be recalled that the PDP national office as well the Rivers State Chapter had severally accused the presidency of interfering with the matters in courts. The PDP also accused the Buhari led federal government of planning to take over the PDP controlled states for the APC, wishing Nigeria a one party nation state.
Meanwhile, the aide to the Andoni born APC Chieftain has called on the federal government to sheath its swords and allow peace reign supreme in Rivers State, having envisaged danger ahead in the state if the APC should continue in their antics.
The average aged aide noted that APC could only win Rivers election through rigging by the federal government since according to him PDP is fully on ground in the State, asserting that any antics to rig out PDP in Rivers amounts to an invitation of anarchy.
