Sports Writers Set Agenda For Ministers, Commissioners Of Sports

The immediate past Minister of Sports of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Barr. Tammy Danagogo has disclosed that sports writers set the agenda for any sports Minister or Sports Commissioner to follow while to act and follow.
Dr. Danagogo made this disclosure at the Go-Round/Swan secondary schools athletics championship where he chaired the opening ceremony at Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium, Port Harcourt.
According to him, when he was the Minister of Sports, writers do ask him, Sir, we hope you are not going to be Minister of Sport for football but that you will be minister of all sports?
He gladly replied them that if you people continue to write and promote only football, leaving other sports out or alone, it means that you have set the agenda of promoting only football out of all other sports”.
“It means, that sports Ministers or Commissioners of sports have nothing to do than to follow suit and act in his administration in promoting football throughout their administrations”.
He therefore admonished sports writers to promote all sports and not writes on football alone, saying this will make any minister of Spots, or commissioner of Sports to embrace the agenda you sports writers set before him and the general Nigeria sports populace.
He also urged sports writers to promote rural hidden sports talents by taking time to discover and write about aspiring young sports talents from the grassroots for national and international exposure by coaches and sports authorities.
The former sports boss in President Goodluck Jonathan administration also used the occasion to appealed to participating students to make use of the opportunity presented to them by Bro. Felix Obuah to combine studies and sports to earn a living and fame for themselves, like Adokiye Amiesimaka which name is cheristened by the stadium. ###
