ASALGA: GDI Leadership Forum Meets With Rivers Comm. For Agriculture

MRS ONIMIM JACKSThe Asari-Toru Local Government Area, ASALGA, Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI Leadership Forum on Tuesday paid a courtesy Visit to the Rivers State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Mrs. Onimim Jacks in her office in Port Harcourt. The delegation was led by the National officer of the association, Dcn. Damiete West.

speaking at the occasion, Dcn. West congratulated Hon. (Mrs) Jacks on her appointment as a Commissioner in the state and expressed optimism that since she assumed office, the agricultural sector in the state is now alive.

The GDI National officer further expressed hope that the visit will cement the already existing relationship with the Ministry of Agriculture.

He revealed the plans of the association to carry out sensitization tour of the thirteen (13) wards of the LGA to enlighten the rural dwellers on the laudable policies and programmes of the present administration under the leadership of Gov. Nyesom Wike. Dnc. West pleaded with the commissioner to include the ASALGA GDI members in her Ministry empowerment scheme whenever the opportunity comes. He called on the people of ASALGA to sink their political differences and support Governor Wike’s new vision of Rivers State.

In her response the Commissioner called on the people of the area to take the advantage of the state government’s agricultural policies and invest in fishing and farming.

Hon. (Mrs.) Jacks thanked the group for the visit and promised to assist whenever the need arises.

Also speaking the ASALGA GDI secretary, Hon. Nimingo Barango commended the Commissioner for her giant strides in the state Ministry of Agriculture.

He prayed God to give her the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Ministry.  ###
