2015: 10 Reasons Why Wike Is Yet To Declare

wikeAhead of the November 26, 2014 gubernatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), our findings have revealed ten (10) reasons why the Minister of State for Education, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike has refused to declare his intention for the Brick House.

Wike as we are reliably gathered has done his home work creditably that will clear the coast for him to succeed Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in May 29, 2015.

However, despite his political prowess in the current dispensation, Chief Wike is yet to quit the Federal Executive Council (FEC). Investigations shown that the following are the reasons why the Federal Minister’s gubernatorial ambition is still in speculations:

  1. Waiting for the official declaration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
  2. He is yet to conclude his consultations with some major stakeholders in the state.
  3. Crack in the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state
  4. Fear of betrayal from the riverine PDP loyalists
  5. Waiting for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s approval
  6. Due to continuous campaign for Ijaw and Ogoni Governor in 2015.
  7. He is yet to convince the likes of Dr. Peter Odili, Alabo T.O. Graham Douglas, and others of his ambition.
  8. The “unwritten” zoning formular parading by the likes of High Chief Sara Igbe, Elechukwu Ogbowu, Lob Ibieneye and others.
  9. The recent Ijaw elders meeting with the President.
  10. Strong opposition from the incumbent Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Inspite the hurdles before Chief Wike’s gubernatorial ambition, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in one of the Ijaw speaking LGAs in the state, Chief Thompson Eferebo told our political correspondent that no amount of campaign of calumny would hinder Chief Wike to declare his ambition before mid October, 2014.

He described Wike as a “child of circumstance and necessity” that defies all local and domestic electoral zoning system or arrangement.

Chief Eferebo declared that none of the contenders to the Brick House will be able to withstand the junior Minister in the Federal Ministry of Education. The party chief, who extolled the leadership qualities of Chief Wike, pleaded with other gubernatorial aspirants to sink their ambition and support the Minister of State for Education to move Rivers State and the PDP forward. ###
