OPU Prepares For Ken Saro Wiwa’s Day In Bonny

Towards the forthcoming Ogoni National celebration on November 10, 2011, which will attract all elites of Ogonis both home and abroad has appealed for a successful celebration.
Speaking to our reporter in his office in Bonny, the president of the Ogoni Progressive Union, Bonny LGA branch, Comrade Legbara Sinee, said Ogoni day is meant to mark the remembrance of their Late hero, Ken Saro Wiwa.
Sinee appealed to all Ogonis in Bonny Island to identify themselves at the event so as to make it a colourful occasion.
The OPU president lauded the chairman of Bonny LGA, Hon. Edward Pepple and Amanyanabo in council, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple, the Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny for the peaceful co-existence of the ogonis in Bonny Island. saying that Bonnys are lovers of non-indigenes.
Legbara appealed to all indigenes of Ogoni in Bonny Local Government Area to be law abiding, adding that any member (s) found wanting in criminal conduct amongst the union will be seriously dealt with irrespective of his/her position in the society.
He urged those in elective positions of authority to always remember the electorate at the grassroots for the betterment of the society.
The president used the medium to commend his executive for effective position of affairs of OPU in Bonny.
He assured that his administration will do her best to carry everybody along in the scheme of things. ####
