TITLE – KEN SARO WIWA

AUTHOR – VITE SMITH
Great man of valour
No joker of his honour
Hanged, being a source of hindrance
To his master’s perseverance
One mom ‘we missed him
Gazing at his sculpture
Down to cemetery I ventured
Approached and read over the rim.

A man to soul sincere
And to me known
Aman who speaks with no fear
With passion of right on his own.

His people denied of their rightful bread
And tortured for their black gold
Seeing his people in much dread
He emerged brave and bold.

Fathers seek his good deed to disclose
But his frailties no where to dispose
The world mourned at his dismiss
And prayed for another of him in their mist.

Here rest his head in the womb of earth
‘You can kill the messenger but cannot kill the message’ were his last words
Heaven did a recompense for his death
There he smiles in the bosom of his father and his GOD.
