Dame Amaechi Commissions Ogu’s Two Edifices

Two edifices a nursery/ primary school and multi purpose complex named Dr. O. Ezekiel comprising shopping mall, super market, Conference hall among others built by Apostle Eugene Ogu, the general overseer of the Abundant Life Evangel Mission (ALEM) have been commissioned.
The commissioning and the dedication ceremony took place at the church premises, Rumuomoi Orosi Psychiatric Road, Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor LGA, Rivers State on Sunday 5th August, 2012.
Commissioning the edifice, Dame Judith Amaechi wife of the Rivers State governor appreciated Apostle Ogu and members of the Church for how God has been using them to help the people of the state.
According to her, spending money on school to help people acquire knowledge, especially helping the less privileged to go to school will move Nigeria forward.
Dame Amaechi who stressed the importance of education said what parents owe their children was to train them in school, noting that training them in a Christian school would help reduce bad behaviour among children and encourage them to live a moral life.
Dame Amaechi, who thanked Dr. Uma Ukpai for his spiritual assistance to the people, commended Engineer Tele Ikuru the deputy governor of Rivers State for his support, describing him as a dependable allied.
Dedicating the edifice to God, Dr. Uma Ukpai thanked God for giving Apostle Ogu the vision to build the complex and making him to actualize his dream. He prayed that God should give him strength to do more as well as give him great people that would support him.
Dr. Ukpai who noted that it was the prayer of the widows that made him to actualize his vision thanked the widows for their prayers.
Dr. Ukpai who advised them not to cry all the time urged them to comfort themselves and believe in God expressing optimism that God will supply them all their needs.
Earlier in his sermon at the church service titled, “Favour”, Dr. Ukpai described favour as important to every Christian, stressing that without favour from God one cannot actualize his vision and dreams. He enjoined Christians to commit themselves to God and be prayerful in order to obtain favour from God.
In his speech Apostle Ogu thanked God for actualizing his dreams.
The former PFN president in Rivers State thanked Dr. Ukpai, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Dame Judith Amaechi, members of his church for their various contributions to wards the actualization of his dream.
In a chat with journalists Apostle Ogu revealed that one of the edifices commissioned (Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Hart multi purpose complex) was named after late Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Hart who was his father in the Lord.
Apostle Ogu who noted that he has the passion to assist widows and the less privileged revealed that over three hundred and seventy eight (378) children are on scholarship adding that 75% of widows and children who have benefited from his NGO”, the Arm of Hope Out reach” were not members of his church.
Apostle Ogu revealed the story of a woman Mrs. Grace from Gokana LGA who was wrongly accused of killing her husband by her own son and sent to prison.
According to him, even when the husband re-appeared where he was hidden, she was still in the prison custody until his legal team intervened in the process and released the woman who is presently being taken care of by his NGO. He called on the police, warders, lawyers and Nigerians to always ensure justice, in their duties. ###
