Create More Link Roads In Woji, Bobmanuel Tells Gov Wike

An appeal has gone to the Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to create more link roads in Woji Community, in order to enhance business operations in the area.

A business Magnet, Chief (Hon.) Seleipiri Bobmanuel made the appeal in a chat with newsmen in his office in Port Harcourt, penultimate Wednesday, saying that Woji as a town is strategically positioned in Rivers State; being the hub of business where oil and gas is seriously into operation.

Chief Bobmanuel, who is the Enyi-Oha 1, of Woji Community, noted that there is more of oil and gas in Woji and Trans- Amadi than any other place in the state, and as such more roads should be opened to boost business.

“We have more of oil and gas here in Woji, Trans-Amadi than any other place in Port Harcourt”, he said, and commended the state Governor Nyesom Wike on his giant strides since inception as Governor of the state a year go, saying that he has really done well, hence should be supported by all.

“I thank the state Governor, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike immensely for the good thing he did by reconstructing the Woji Road, now renamed Eze Dr. Frank Eke Road, which has now eased the problem of previous frequent traffic jam on the road.

“But we need more network of roads to be opened because if you look at the setting now, the roads are not much and there are no connecting roads within and out, and because of this there is always traffic jam 24 Hours”, he noted, adding that most of the roads are supposed to be tarred to ease traffic, but unfortunately only few roads that are not connected to others are tarred, pointing out that if one goes through Nvuigwe, Estate, Ogbatai areas and others, it becomes glaring to note that those areas are not tarred and appealed that they should be tarred.

In spite of this, Chief (Hon.) Seleipiri Bobmanuel expressed happiness to the Governor for his developmental strides in the state, adding that he should continue to try his best to touch other roads in Woji.

According to the Enyi-Oha 1, of Woji, the inadequacy of roads network and the condition of the existing ones affects drastically business operations in the area, and as a result trucks are no longer moving freely. He reasoned that when there is enough good roads, things will move smoothly and will enhance business operation that will benefit the people of the community, that way there will be happiness, peace, harmony and unity of all.

“Governor Wike is a very good politician and administrator. He has performed very well and I appeal that he help create more roads to boost business operation, because Woji, especially Trans-Woji as it stands now has become the commercial nerve of Port Harcourt, hence almost all the industries are cited in the area.

Chief (Hon.) Bobmanuel scored Governor Wike high in the area of security in the state, insisting that the Governor is doing his best to protect lives and properties of Rivers people and others resident in the state.

He said there should be partnership among the Government, Community and other agencies to tackle the problem of insecurity in the state because, according to him, government alone cannot do much without the cooperation and involvement of others.

Chief Bobmanuel described the Eze-in-Council of Woji community, HRH, Eze Sir (Dr.) Emeka Ihunwo as a very nice, kind, hospitable and accommodating personality, saying he is a blessing to humanity and Woji community.

According to him, the Paramount ruler and Nyenwe-Eli Woji Community, Eze Emeka Ihunwo is very security conscious, positing if government can liaise with and his Chiefs in the area of security in his domain, there will be positive result.

“Eze Emeka Ihunwo is trying so much, he’s doing his best as an experienced traditional ruler and man of the people and we are all happy with him and will continue to support him,” he said.

He said, for us to    achieve absolute security in the state, all community traditional rulers, chiefs, elders, youths and others must come together; and collaborate with the Government and all security agencies, as Rivers State is a peace loving state.
