Rivers Guber Aspirant Assures On Transformation, Sense Of Belonging

ENGR. HARRYA governorship aspirant in Rivers State come 2015, Engr. Awoala Atuboinoma-Harry has promised to transform Rivers State and give the people a sense of belonging.

Engr. Atuboinoma-Harry made the assertion when members of the Rivers Consensus Movement (RCM) paid him a solidarity visit in his office in Port Harcourt on Monday.

According to him, the people of the state are suffering in the midst of plenty, and that his call to serve was to put smiles on the faces of the people and put food on their tables.

He noted that Rivers State is blessed, and if given the opportunity would prudently manage the resources to the development and wellbeing of the people, by initiating youth empowerment, which had been the major issue that brought militancy in the state. He said that if voted into power, he would create employment opportunities through Skills Acquisition Programmes, good road network connecting all the 23 local government areas of the state including the neighboring Bayelsa State as well as build markets to boost the economy of the state.

The seasoned Administrator from Ijaw speaking Kalabari extraction further assured that he would give the people of the state what belonged to them, a new lease of life, bring back the Garden City status, offer scholarship at all levels to enable the people at the grassroots benefit from the educational scheme, encourage the fisher-folk and the farmers which had been the major trade of the Rivers people before the oil, and create more cities to decongest Port Harcourt.

The aspirant, who has always been referred to as a man of the people because of his simplicity, uprightness, faithfulness and doggedness disclosed that he would ensure infrastructural development, health care services, provision of portable water for the people, construct more fly-overs among others, told the people of the state that God had answered their cries by sending his messenger, Engr. Atuboinoma-Harry to salvage them like Moses in the Bible, saying, “the yearning for change for better things for the people to see physically has come, lets join hands and build a better Rivers State now to leave a legacy for the younger generation”.

On President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan re-election bid come 2015, Engr. Atuboinoma-Harry expressed optimism that God who installed him in the first tenure must surely do it again, and that anyone who oppose it is like a dead man, because the Angels in heaven would be against such person.

In his remarks, the Director General of Rivers Consensus Movement, Dr. Lawson Igwe said the decision of Engr. Atuboinoma Harry to heed to the clarion call of the Rivers people is a welcomed development, because of his track records in youth employment and poverty alleviation among the Rivers people and Niger Delta in general, and appealed to Rivers people to give him the chance to replicate his love for the people through governance ###
