Fresh Blood Bath In Obio/Akpor…As PDP, APC Clash

The social and commercial activities in Rumuepirikon Community in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State were paralysed as supporters suspected to be members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC clashed.

The fight started at about 7.30am on Wednesday. Dangerous weapons were freely used during the clash. As at the time of filing in this report, the cause of the fight was not known, but eyewitness accused members of APC for igniting the clash that throw the LGA into confusion.

According to an eyewitness account, some hoodlums suspected to be loyal to the opposition APC disrupted activities of the ruling party in the area.

Information reaching our newsdesk had it that during the clash, no fewer than eleven (11) persons sustained serious injuries and property estimated at millions of naira were destroyed.

The clash, however disrupted the planned visit of Gov. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to the area. ##
