Arms Pile Up In Rivers

Many lives were divinely saved, Tuesday in the Port Harcourt township axis of the state capital as a commercial taxi with Rivers State colour was loaded with arms conveyed to an unknown destination from the Marine Base axis of Eastern bye-pass through the hospital road.

It was gathered that the taxi driver cleverly picked about two passengers to defy police check points on Marine Base round about and Moscow road to actualize his mission of pushing the arms through to his destination.

The driver of the old and dirty looking taxi cab later picked a colleague supposedly as passenger at the Corner Stone School Area on Marine Base Route, who in his panting state was inquisitive to ascertain if the purported driver has serviced the irons.

It was the later a passenger that occupied the front seat who suddenly brought out some pistols under the front seat where the driver refused any to sit.

The anxious third passenger who could not be controlled by the driver through the point of the gun ordered the other two passengers to remain calm or blame themselves.

The irony of the entire drama was that the driver had to force the passengers who were heading Aggrey road to drop at the St. Cyprian’s area on hospital road and then zoom off through the Bernard Carr Street.

Information at The Newswriter disposal revealed that the passengers were disappointed when they beacon on the armless police traffic officers at the junction who could not respond swiftly.

Indications also revealed that, the supposed gun runners who were busy rending abuses on the PDP might be hired by opposition political Parties to intimidate the PDP in the forthcoming governorship and State Assembly elections.

However, it is observed that, if this information is anything to go by, then passengers and innocent citizens should beware and vigilant of how they move in the coming days to avoid disaster. ###
