PDP Vows To Reclaim Power In 2019

The National Vice Chairman South-South of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Dr. Cairo Ojougbo said the party would do all humanly possible to reclaim power from the ruling party All Progressives Congress, APC in 2019.

In a chat with journalists during the People Democratic Party post election visit at the PDP South-South Secretariat in Port Harcourt, Dr. Cairo said the committee headed by Senator were in Rivers State to receive memorandum on how the party can be rebuilt ahead of 2019.

Commenting on the crisis rocking the ruling party APC in the national Assembly, the PDP chieftain said it means that the APC lacks ideology to lead the nation pointing out that Nigerians will beg the party PDP to come back in 2019.

The PDP chieftain added that the party will not succumb to any form of intimidation to lose its cases at the election petition tribunal in the south-south insisting that the party won freely and fairly in the elections “Rivers and Akwa Ibom States tribunals are sitting in Abuja, no amount of intimidation will make PDP lose the elections it won freely any move to rig us out at the tribunal will be resisted.

He further reaffirmed on the party’s stand of rejecting the appointment of Hajia Amina Zakari as the Independent Electoral Commission INEC.

According to him, the appointment of INEC chairman by Buhari led administration is unacceptable, the example of the ex-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan must be followed.

On the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State, he said committee had been set up to resolve the matter.

Senator Ahmed Markarpi the head of the committee had disclosed that the committee had received several memorandum from members on how to advance the party.

In a chat with journalists the deputy Governor of Delta State Barr. Kingsley B. Ojuaru, said the mission of the committee set up by the people Democratic Party was the way forward and rebuild the party as to reclaim power in 2019 expressing hope that such will be actualized.

“We are ensuring that we remain united as to actualize our aim and objective of this committee”.

Similarly, Rt. Hon. Anikan Okon the speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly noted that the aim of the committee was all about reforming PDP expressing optimism that PDP will win in 2019. ###
