Bonny: BIRC Boss Takes Stock

The chairman of Bonny Integrity Recruitment Centre (BIRC) Amaopusenibo Wilson E. B. Jumbo, on Tuesday outlined his achievements since he was appointed and inaugurated into office as the BIRC boss on 26th November, 2015. In a chat with newsmen in his office at Bonny, Wilson Jumbo recalled that he was appointed by the Amayanabo in council King Edward Asimin William Dappa Pepple and inaugurated by the CTC chairman Bonny Local Government Caretaker committee Hon. (Amb) Charles T. Jumbo at the council conference hall Bonny, the headquarters of the Bonny LGA of Rivers State.
Amaopusenibo Jumbo noted that his first priority was to concretize the poor relationship between the host community and the multinational in the area which he has achieved. He pointed out that despite the office building belongs to ministry of Education, he met the office and its premise unkept, that has been able to sanitize the environment.
The BIRC boss also confirmed that over 300 unemployed youths have so far gained employment into companies operating in the area.
The BIRC chairman hinted this weekly, that he has rolled out a proposal for vocational workshops to enable unemployed youths learn skills of their choice, so as to ease them gain skill jobs.
Jumbo noted that employment is for indigenes and non-indigenes residence in Bonny Island. He lamented that some companies gave illegal employments are site without the consent of his office. He however, warned against illegal employments saying that his administration will not condone any company who bent on illegal employment.
The BIRC boss appeal to multinationals, the government, traditional council and Bonny elite to see the project rot remedic vocational skills workshop as a way of keeping the youths busy in the area, to avoid youths restiveness and insecurity in the area.
The Amaopusenibo frowned at some CLOs and personnel assigned by the Amayanabo in council to represent the kingdom at site, but they went there to betray the kingdom.
He, however suggested that such CLOs and personnels appointment should be withdrawn and be replaced for the interest of the kingdom.
The BIRC boss stressed the need for Bonny Employment Monitoring Team (BEMT) to work alongside with the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) and not to see their functions as an independent office saying that the purpose of employment monitoring team is to go to site and other agencies and scout out job opportunities and report same to BIRC for employment.
The BIRC chairman stated that the office of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) should be an independent body which to be maintain by multinationals operating in the area. And that the staff recruitment should be judge by qualification and experience, to generate the up keeps of the management and staff of BIRC.
Hon. Wilson E. S. Jumbo lauded the state Governor, Chief (Barr). Nyesom E.Wike, the Amanyanabo-in-council, King Edward Asimi William Dappa Pepple and the chairman Bonny LGA, Hon. Charles T. Jumbo for honour done him to head BIRC. He assured them to discharge his primary assignment effectively with humility, asking for support from their respective quarters.
