Akulga Constuency II: APC Lawmaker May Decamp To PDP

The way, the manner and the circumstance in which Benebo Anabraba emerged as the winner of the March 19 rerun poll declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC as the lawmaker to represent Akuku-Toru Constituency II seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly, he will not continue with APC in the House.

Anabraba contested and represented the Akuku-Toru constituency II in the State Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the last political dispensation before his defection to the APC.

Hon. Anabraba is a loyalist to the former Minister for Sports, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, but decamped to APC.

Hon. Anabraba floored Tonye Alalibo who was disqualified for an alleged electoral offence. Information had it that many PDP chieftains from Abonnema, headquarters of Akulga aided Anabraba’s electoral victory.

It was politics of ethnicity that technically knocked out Tonye Alalibo, who hails from Kula community in the oceanic axis of the LGA.

Of recent his (Tonye Alalibo) real sponsor namely: HRH Hope Opusingi had a logger head with the ex-Sports Minister and the bitter outcome of that struggle fell hard on the disqualified Tonye Alalibo.

From all indications the APC lawmaker will defect to PDP before the expiration of the first four tenure because he cannot stay in the opposition while his political master, Dr. Danagogo is in the PDP. ###
