Fulfilling Electioneering Promises

In the past few weeks, politicians seeking for different elective positions are bombarding the electorate with array of promises if voted into power come February 14 and 28, 2015.

The electoral promises ranging from job opportunities, security, improved power supply, construction and rehabilitation of roads to improved health facilities.

Some candidates have over night become good persons whereas it were not so, especially those who are seeking for 2nd, 3rd and 4th tenure. The worst part of it, is that those who are already holding elective positions fail to show their constituents their score cards to ascertain their performance(s) before making choice in the forthcoming elections.

It is better for serving politicians to show their score cards than making fresh promises. No doubt most politicians have failed in their responsibilities of rendering services to the masses.

As the electioneering campaign continues, we will politician with them to make promises that they can fulfill.

Unfulfilled electioneering promises have kept the country on the fast lane of retrogression. Nigeria politicians should as a matter of conscience do things that will improve the living standard of the masses, so as to enjoy the dividends of democracy. ###
