Life is made up of two kinds of people: the sensible and the unreasonable. A reasonable man does things that attract accolades from onlookers. While a mad man displays some attitudes that eventually turns him into a caricature before the eyes of passersby. Among these two categories of people where do you belong?
Some belong to the former. Some others are associates to the latter. Yet many more others mingle with both parties. If you are sensible I call you friend. If you are cuddled in the palms of madness I owe you nothing but sympathy. But if you are mixed with both I think I should try and instill some wisdom in your heart.
It is sensible to build good hospitals but it is madness to be flown abroad for medical checkups and treatment. It is sensible to build the best of primary schools but it is madness to get your kids enrolled in expensive private schools. It is sensible to send people on scholarship to foreign lands but it is madness for not investing the money in your own tertiary institutions. It is sensible for putting fountains on our roads but it is madness for not giving the masses water to drink. It is sensible for covering all the pot holes on our roads but it is madness for the holes to resurface before the end of a year.
I love your good works, but drink this piece of wisdom and become wiser.
