Dr. (Mrs.) Edith Wele-Amadi Set For Special Adviser … As Princewill Institutes N26m Microfinance Fund

The Princewill Political Associates (PPA) has finally announced Dr. (Mrs.) Edith Wele-Amadi, its Women Leader as her nominee to the Rivers State government for a Special Adviser slot.
Making the announcement, Prince Tonye Princewill, the PPA Coordinator highlighted her grassroots mobilization prowess and dedication to team effort as some of the factors that led him to the decision and encouraged her to continue in that vein whilst always remembering that one is blessed so that he/she can bless others.
Princewill made this policy statement in an event to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day in Rivers State.
He also used the occasion to institute a N26m Microfinance fund for Rivers State Rural Women, adding that part of this fund would be subject to partnership arrangement with the Rivers State Microfinance Agency to provide Microfinance of one million naira per LGA in the state amounting to the sum of N23 million.
Princewill made it known that all beneficiaries would be subjected to the criteria laid down by the agency as they would have the final say on who was eligible.
He used the opportunity to commend the women for all their efforts since 2006 when they started working together for him and assured them that Rivers State Microfinance agency under the present management would be perfect partners for progress. He went further to present a cheque of N2.8m to the women caucus of PPA for the procurement of equipment for the commencement of a PPA Women Skills Acquisition’s Programme to be cited at the PPA secretariat along Port Harcourt /Aba expressway.
It would be noted that Dr. (Mrs.) Edith Wele-Amadi was strongly speculated as one of the commissioner nominees at the last exercise but was short changed at the last minutes.
Most of the jubilant women interviewed at the occasion expressed happiness at the development saying that with her magnanimous heart who has been making a lot of sacrifices with her own resources these past years, the nominee would actually reach out to the down trodden the more with the expected position.
They thank God for their benefactor and prayed God to always keep and protect him for more Rivers people to benefit from his large heart. ###
