Alari George Elected PH Allstars FC Chairman

The Port Harcourt Allstars international football club on Friday, May 18, 2012, elected former Sharks football club player Alari George as its chairman, to pilot the affairs of the club for the next one year.
A total of 119 voters were accredited and all voted for Alari George. The position of vice chairman, went in favour of Samuel Ogolo by 118 members, while the position of club Secretary went to Barrister Evans Ibingo with 117votes.
Others who also made the exco were, Damiebi Endurance, who was voted into the office of financial secretary by all the 119 members accredited for the election, while Hon. (elder) Nnamdi Nwuehe was warmly voted by all to occupy the prestigious office of club Provost cum Curator.
The election was smooth, free and fair, courtesy of Ikechi Osimini-Beke, chairman, Allstars Electoral Committee (ASEC) and Ibulu Ibieme Alfred, Secretary, (ASEC/..)
Speaking to The Newswriter sports desk, shortly after the election results were announced, Alari George said he was so elated to have been elected as chairman of Allstars International football club of Port Harcourt.
He disclosed his plans to increase his love in the club, saying that without love no one could achieve anything on the whole. He also hinted that he would try his possible best to bring every player on board his developmental plans, pledging that he is going to carry every player along in the scheme of the club’s agenda.
One other area the new chairman said he was going to focus on is to bring equity and justice to bear according to the club’s constitution.
On his part, the outgoing chairman of the club, Barrister, Aribitonye Okiri, said he was elated to have successfully put another exco in place, and thanked God, saying life is all about changes.
“I have served for two years as chairman of the club. I am still relevant to the development of the club. In the next one year, Allstars international football club will be partnering with private companies in other areas of development,” he stated.
He also disclosed that the club is floating Allstars football competition in Port Harcourt, and the club will take the centre stage in Port Harcourt.
The club has it in its plans to redirect the activities of the club to the next level with join efforts of the members of the club. He therefore urged all members of the club to give their maximum support to the new exco to bring purposeful achievements in different spheres.
Hon. Oron Nte, Chairman of Andoni local government area, who is also a member of the club and who also voted, said the election was smooth, free and fair. He congratulated those who emerged victorious and advised them to keep the club together in oneness and bring new ideas and innovations.
According to him, Allstars international football club is not an idle club, so the new exco should keep the club busy with activities as to promote the club.
As a sportsman, he revealed that his local government will be launching “Operation Catch them in the Schools” programme where talents will be fetch to represent the local government. In this regard, he said, he is on the verge of embarking on school football competitions in his local government area to produce the next generation of footballers for the state and the country. ###
