Ubima Kidnap Victim, Eugene Orlu-Orlu Laid To Rest

Late Mr. Eugene Orlu-Orlu the abducted victim who died in the hands of his abductors has been laid to rest in his home town, Ubima, in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.
It would be recalled that late Mr. Eugene Orlu-Orlu while going about his normal business was abducted from his house by his abductors with multiple gunshots and dragged out on May 17, 2012, at about 8.30pm.
In his address, the eldest son of the deceased, Barr. Ikpe Orlu-Orlu Christian, the chief mourner, stated that Late Mr. Eugene Orlu-Orlu was born in 1948 into the family of Mr. Lazarus Ikpe Orlu-Orlu and Late Mrs. Beatrice Orlu-Orlu in Omuowhor Omuobosia Ubima in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.
He attended St. Theresa’s Catholic School Ubima from 1956-1967 and obtained his first school leaving certificate and later proceeded to Teachers Training College, T.T.C. Mbiama, joined Karama in 1976 where he obtained Teachers Grade II certificate. He later proceeded to the university Ibadan for NCE and obtained his Diploma certificate from 1983 to 1984. He got admission into university of Port Harcourt from 1989 to 1997 where he obtained his B. ED.
Late Mr. Eugene Orlu-Orlu who was a brother-in-law to the Political Editor of The Newswriter newspaper had been a headmaster in several schools across the state including Etche, Egbeda, Ubima Omuogwa, Igwuruta, Alu, Merelu among others.
Until his death Late Orlu-Orlu was a deputy Director in the Ministry of Education, and was the secretary of Ogbakor Ikwerre Isila branch, a devoted Christian and was survived by six sons and four daughters and a wife, including brothers and sisters.
In their separate tributes, Rev. Father Dr. Hyacinth C. Orlu-Orlu, Mr. Luke Orlu-Orlu and Mr. Oliver Orlu expressed sadness at the demise of their late brother and described him as a humble, kind, generous and honest man, stressing that his death was a blow to them.
In a chat with the Political Editor of The Newswriter elder Dennis Orlu-Orlu the eldest brother to the deceased who expressed shock, described him as a benevolent, honest, and caring man whose death has created a great vacuum that could not be filled easily.
Elder Orlu-Orlu prayed that God should receive him warmly into his bosom. ###
