NDDC To Support Development Driven Organization

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has assured that it will continue to identify with groups and organizations whose aspiration and mission are development driven.
The Managing Director, Dr. Christian Oboh disclosed this when officials of the Port Harcourt Club led by its President, Golden Tamuno visited him at the Commission’s headquarters, Port Harcourt.
Acknowledging the role of the club in the development of the region, he said “I want to commend the Port Harcourt Club for its pioneering efforts in sports development”.
The NDDC Boss emphasized that the Commission’s passion for sports was informed by the role it plays in Nation building, pointing out that, the Port Harcourt Club has been exceptionally consistent in realizing this dream, particularly for the Niger Delta and Nigeria in general.
Dr. Oboh lamented that Nigeria was gradually losing its position in sports, promising that the NDDC will collaborate with Port Harcourt Club towards assisting in reversing the trend.
“We are sad, that Nigeria has lost its position among sporting Nations, we will encourage the Port Harcourt Club, to intensify efforts as a training ground for future champions in the Niger Delta Region”. He declared.
Earlier, President, Port Harcourt Club, 1928, Barrister Golden Tamuno had thanked the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for its support for the club.
According to him, the Club had previously received generator, transformer besides the Modern Glass Squash courts, and table tennis section building under construction as well as financial support from the NDDC.
