NPL Kept On Hold, As PHALGA F.A Chairman Reacts

The chairman of PHALGA Football Association, Kingsley Woke has reacted to the Nigeria Premier league being kept on hold for lack of sponsorship.
Mr. Woke, who is a soccer promoter and administrator, took the news of the league not commencing when it ought to as something that will affect Nigerian league players negatively. He pointed out that the more the league is kept on hold, Nigerian local players displaying their football career in the domestic league will be affected in terms of transfer both in Nigeria and outside the country.
According to him, the league had been played without sponsors before, why wait for sponsor before commencing.
The soccer administrator suggested that the Nigerian football authority should as a matter of urgency seek for interesting sponsors to take over the league in order to consider the key actors of the game.
He stressed that Nigeria has a lot of multinational companies doing business in the country, he called on the football authority to make the league interesting before the corporate companies, adding that in that way, it will be the multinational that would come begging to sponsor the league without the football authorities going for them, because they would have seen the need to make gain by sponsoring the league.
He also called on the football authorities to follow the steps of European football as to change the trend of Nigeria premier league, so that Nigeria premier league will be more interesting and competitive like that of the European league.
He believes Nigerian football will be better if the appropriate steps are put in place by the authorities concerned. ###
