CARNIRIV 2012: Jasper Jumbo Advocates Prayer Riv

A prominent elder statesman in Rivers State, Prof. Jasper Jumbo has declared that what the state needs most is a prayer carnival and not necessarily a cultural carnival, even though the latter, he noted, is an avenue for showcasing the states cultural heritage to the outside world.
He stated this in a telephone chat with The Newswriter on Tuesday, 11th December, 2012.
Prof. Jasper Jumbo a bonny High Chief who is currently based in Abuja, said that Rivers State, being the oil capital of Nigeria, was used by God t raise the Niger Delta region its present status.
“CARNIRIV showcases the culture of our state, but I think what I will advocate is PRYAERRIV. This is the oil capital of the nation; this is the state that God used to make Niger Delta whatever it is today,” he said, while commending Governor Amaechi for his efforts.
Prof. Jumbo who recalled his contributions to the development of Niger Delta also noted that Rivers State gave President Goodluck Jonathan the highest votes during the last election. ####
