FYC Organizes N2.5m Marathon in Bonny

In a bid to keep youths busy and help them develop attain their respective talents in the area of sports. The chairman of Finima Youth Congress FYC, Comrade Ala Hart has organized a marathon race with about 250 participants, in the Bonny Area of Rivers State.
The marathon competition which took place along Finima Bonny Road, attracted some Finima elites, including security agencies and officials in the area.
The marathon race ended with presentation of prizes to the winners, comprising seven males and four females.
Speaking to our reporter at Finima, the chairman of Finima Youth Congress said that the Youth Congress had been able to host the long awaited event so as to unite the youths. He pointed out that the event was spent at the cost of N2.5m
The FYC chairman noted that sports is the only way to bring youths together. He charged youths in Finima town to always embrace peace in the community.
Hart lauded all those who assisted the youth body in hosting the marathon in Finima. He also commended youths for making Finima a crime free town, expressing satisfaction that awards have been given to the best performing youths in their areas of specification.
Filing questions from our reporter, Hart said that with this marathon competition, the first three beneficiaries are qualified to represent Bonny LGA at the state level and could represent the state at the national level.
The youth chairman commended the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Finima, SP Abubakar Yahaya and his men for maintaining peace in Finima community.
He as well lauded the JTF commander, Finima Unit for his efficiency and used the medium to thank the councilor of ward 5, Hon. Onimi Kabaka Brown for his contributions toward the peaceful events in Finima town.
He also thanked Hon. Brown for his donations for the marathon and the forthcoming street party award.
The youth chairman also lauded elders of Finima community for their unity, despite all odds.
The chairman equally thanked Hon. Aye A. Pepple, member Rivers State House of Assembly for building the youth centre in Finima town as part of his constituency project, noting that the youth edifice is one of the best in Nigeria. He assured of efficient management of the youth centre, while thanking the Bonny council boss, Hon. Edward E. Pepple for his promise to equip the youth centre for maximum use. ####
